UNCLE PAUL

I first became passionate about writing in the early 80's and always dreamed of writing a novel.  However the work load of a teacher restricted my writing to things such as lesson preparation, assessments and departmental plans, to name but a few.

When the school I worked at became an Oasis Academy 'business' a wave of redundancies began and I was hit in July of 2012.  The school seemed to be cutting costs and getting rid of expensive, experienced staff in favour for cheaper, less experienced teachers.  This was regardless of performance as my student’s grades were consistently among the best in the country!    I decided there and then I would change direction and begin a writing career.

My first novel 'Wolf in the Head' was published in October 2012.  I then had the idea of getting my 8 year old Niece Ella to illustrate one of my children's stories that I had written back in 1985.  'How the Bumble Came To Bee' was published in November 2012.

Following the success of these two books I began writing my second novel ‘Wings of Da Vinci’ and this was published in March 2013.

In January 2013 I also published two children’s picture books which had been illustrated by Ella again.  These were ‘A – Zee Colour Me’ and ‘Santa Gets Stuck’.

Ella wanted to draw mermaids or fairies so I then wrote ’10 Little Mermaids’ and ‘The Phonic Fairies and the Alphabet Wall’.  10 Little Mermaids has proved to be the most popular book so far.  My nephew Griff drew all the elves in the ‘The Phonic Fairies and the Alphabet Wall’.  He was aged 5 at the time.

I am presently searching for a literary agent to represent my latest work which is a young adult novel and another children’s picture book.
